A. J. Foyt at the 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans) Race, June 1967

Summary

A.J. Foyt took the checkered flag at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, his only appearance at the famed French endurance race. Foyt was usually found racing open-wheel cars -- he'd won his third Indianapolis 500 only ten days before Le Mans. With co-driver Dan Gurney, Foyt proved himself just as capable at the controls of a sports car.
